Bagpipes
Bagpipes are aerophones that use enclosed reeds fed from a constant reservoir of air in the form of a bag. Bagpipes have historically been found throughout Europe, Northern Africa, the Persian Gulf, and the Caucasus. They minimally consist of an air supply, a bag, a chanter, and usually a drone.
The term “bagpipes” is equally correct in the singular or plural. These loud, melodic instruments were one time used by the Scottish to frighten away their enemies on the battlefield.
