The piano accordion is an accordion equipped with a keyboard similar to a piano or organ. The first time a keyboard was put on an accordion was in 1852 in Paris, by Bouton.
In comparison to a piano keyboard, the keys of a piano accordion are more rounded, smaller, and lighter to the touch. They go vertically down the side, pointing inward, making them accessible to only one hand while handling the accordion.
