Darbuka - The darbuka drum is an Arabic hand drum shaped like a goblet. This single headed drum is similar to the doumbek. Apollo’s Axes features darbuka drums in a range of sizes as well as handmade darbukas.
Doumbek - The doumbek a is a goblet shaped hand drum used mostly in Hebrew, Arabic, Assyrian, Persian, Balkan, Greek, Armenian, Azeri and Turkish music. The doumbek is played with a much lighter touch and quite different strokes than other hand drums, such as the djembe. The doumbek makes the perfect hand drum because it is portable and not too loud.
Djembe - A djembe, also known as djimbe, jenbe, jymbe, jembe, yembe, or jimbay, or sanbanyi, is a skin-covered hand drum shaped like a large goblet and meant to be played with bare hands. Some Africans consider the ashiko to be male and the djembe female, while others believe the opposite is true.
Zarb - The zarb is a single-headed, goblet drum that is similar to the doumbek. Because it is one of the one national drums of Persia drum., it is sometimes referred to as the Persian doumbek due to its origins and shape, similar to the doumbek.
