Tambourines
The tambourine is a musical instrument of the percussion family consisting of a frame, often of wood or plastic, with pairs of small metal jingles, called zils. Tambourines come in many different shapes with the most common being circular.
The tambourine can be traced back to most ancient civilizations such as India, Greece, China, Egypt, and Rome. It began to take a prominent place in the music world during the eighteenth century when composers used it in their operas.
