Agogos are bells traditionally used by the Yorduba folk music in Nigeria, and may also be the oldest Brazilian samba instrument. Also called a gangkogui or gonkogui in Africa, the agogo bell can be made of either metal or wood. Most commonly, it is made of two bells (one larger than the other) attached by a u-shape piece of metal.
