Susato Balladeer Hurdy-Gurdy (3 Strings)

This is a beautiful, rich sounding instrument with big oval body based on a 15th century original. Suitable for solo work or as a dramatic background instrument for the ballad singer. It has three strings, (1 melody, 2 drones) and a diatonic key board with programable tangents. The Balladeer body is made of curly maple, birdseye maple, cherry or walnut with a Sitka spruce sounding board and rosewood trim. Depending on the string gauges chosen, the Balladeer Hurdy-Gurdy can be tuned from -D- to -Eb-, or -Bb- to -C-. Please state your choice of tuning. If not specified, strings for playing in -D- to -Eb- will be shipped.
